The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) organization has continued to be such close partner with our ministry Charitos Transformation Africa. Once again they raised funds and donated Christmas packages to over 1,600 Sunday school children in Hindi, Mokowe, and Lamu Island Churches. The package consisted of a school bag packed with the Action Bible, a lunch hot pot dish, assorted school stationery and a solar lamp.
We were able to give out these packages to Hindi Children on 9th of November and at Mokowe on 17th of November. The children on Lamu Island are yet to receive theirs, because some of the items were not enough. Stephen, VOM Director in Kenya is planning on how to purchase more. The number of children in Sunday schools in many churches has gone up.
It was our first time to give the gifts to Sunday schools in Mokowe churches. A Sunday school teacher from PEFA Church told us that the last time we gave the gifts to Hindi Churches, she lost several children who opted to be traveling to their sister Church in Hindi where they were assured of receiving a Christmas gift! In his speech, Michael encouraged the children not to go to Sunday school for the gifts but to go worship and learn about our creator.
