Providing quality healthcare to the vulnerabe groups
Quality healthcare is of utmost importance to productive communities. Unfortunately many are unable to access quality health care due to poor access roads replete with many dangers to their areas, many years of neglect by health care givers, lack of their own trained health care givers, among many other factors.
It is such a relief when medical care is taken to these communities right where they dwell, either in the remote villages or informal settlements.
And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life – this is indeed a gift from God. Ecclesiastes 5:19: [NLT]
How We Do it
In partnership with others,
- Train rural communities in matters of hygiene and clean living conditions.
- Help communities access clean drinking water. Training them in simple, cost-effective ways of purifying drinking water to eradicate water-borne diseases.
- Team up with the government and/or other agencies in the campaign against Malaria and other preventable diseases.
- Charitos also conducts eradication of jiggers and other mites, and eradication of malnutrition in young children.
- Conduct free medical camps to poor rural communities who have no easy access to medical care. This is done through volunteer doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other health workers in collaboration with the Ministry of Health.
- Running medical clinics in our academies to cater for the medical needs of the teachers and the pupils.
- Running mobile clinics to help poor communities in the interior, isolated places to access healthcare.
