Training for both pastors and Church leaders from different denominations took place on Saturday 14th, 16th– 19th 2020 at Redeemed Church in Hindi. Over 90 people were in attendance. It was overwhelming for they kept increasing every day, stretching our budget.

For the first two days, brother Alison Samuel from Juba, South Sudan taught a course on Understanding Islam. Alison is well known to Michael, having taken some courses together in Nairobi. He was facilitated to come and teach the Lamu Pastors by our brother Ezekiel Wainaina. Ezekiel is still recovering from his spine surgery he underwent in India in February.

On Tuesday 17th through Thursday 19th, Bishop Peter Simwa from Eldoret was the facilitator. Peter serves under Village Ministries International, an affiliate organization of the Voice of the Martyrs (VOM). The training was actually sponsored by VOM

He used a training manual called “Vital Elements: Exploring the Truth” by Licock Ray.

Some of the area covered were:

  1. Six Principles of Personal Preparation for Bible Study
  2. A Historical Overview of the Bible
  3. A Chronological Overview
  4. Preparing to Study the Bible: Six Basic Questions for Every Verse
  5. Basic Principles of Interpretation
  6. The Doctrine of God’s Person

There were overwhelming responses from the Pastors and Church leaders, with many expressing their deep gratitude to Charitos for organizing such deep and enriching teachings for them. They also appreciated the fact that the manual had been translated into Kiswahili, thus enabling those who couldn’t handle English to benefit from the teachings in a language they can understand. Bishop Simwa also shared a lot from his personal experiences in the Ministry and His walk of faith with God which truly uplifted the faith of these Church leaders. Thank you Bishop Simwa! Thank you Village Ministries! Thank you VOM! Glory to God!
